Yep, family is a great source of writing gigs (free & paid) in the beginning. Personally though, I find that I take referrals from my family better than direct work from them but that’s just me :)

Thanks! Yeah. For smaller projects I don’t always take a deposit. I’d rather the client be 100% satisfied before forking over the money. This way, next time, they won’t hesitate to give me a deposit.
